CONCACAF qualifying for the 2018 World Cup began back in March 2015 with 35 countries participating.
Four rounds, 82 matches and 20 months later, the final round begins on Friday. Known as the Hex, the six-team, double round-robin format will send three teams directly to the World Cup, and the fourth-place team will face the fifth-place Asian finisher for another World Cup spot.
