Texans rookie K.J. Dillon tore his ACL

Texans rookie strong safety K.J. Dillon tore his anterior cruciate ligament against the Indianapolis Colts, according to sources not authorized to speak publicly.

Dillon immediately grabbed his knee and was helped off the field by trainers.

After the game, the fifth-round draft pick from West Virginia was on crutches and went to get a magnetic resonance imaging exam on his knee.

Dillon was backing up strong safety Corey Moore and playing on special teams.

He finished the game with one tackle on special teams.

Dillon gamely attempted to play through the serious injury.
